Temporo-Mandibular Dysfunction (TMD)

jaw mandibular dysfunction joint pain

TMD is a condition influencing the tissues surrounding the temporo-mandibular joint (jaw). This joint is susceptible to injury or stress and can become sore or inflamed, just like any other joint in your body. Eating becomes painful and headaches are commonly experienced. Jaw movement becomes very restricted and clicking or locking may occur.

Physiotherapy evaluation and intervention can provide effective resolution of symptoms and loss of function. James Baggs PT has post-graduate training and extensive experience in the assessment and successful treatment of TMD.
