Walking the smarter way! Nordic Pole walking began in the Scandinavian countries more than two decades ago. It has since become widely done in Europe and the United Kingdom amongst all age groups as a safe and effective form of low impact exercise. Working 90% of the body’s muscles, versus only 50% used with regular walking, Nordic Pole Walking can help participants achieve many health benefits such as weight loss, lowered blood pressure and blood sugar control. Additionally, for those who need it, the poles can increase balance and stability while walking. Nordic Pole Walking is beneficial across most ages and abilities, and provides a total body and cardiovascular workout all in ONE activity. Thirty minutes of Nordic Pole Walking = 55 minutes of regular walking.
At Best Health Physiotherapy we have 3 Certified Nordixx Pole Walking Instructors. We run regular free introductory clinics with loaner poles. Learn more about how Nordic Pole Walking can benefit you, receive some instruction in proper Nordic Pole Walking technique, and practice with the poles.
All sessions are outdoors at Best Health Physio. Please dress for the weather. Loaner poles are available, or bring your own. Masks are not required but feel free to wear one. We will maintain physical distancing as much as possible.
