As a Registered Kinesiologist and Ergonomist for almost 25 years my focus has been on health and wellness in the workplace. We spend almost a third of our time working, and I believe that healthy workplaces and practices make for healthier more productive people.
Many times my work is like being a detective, uncovering the information about health, function and the workplace to determine the real issue that needs to be addressed. Getting the facts allows me to successfully bridge the gap between ability and job demands so that people may remain at work or return to work safely. By combining an understanding of underlying health and functional information with ergonomic interventions, job coaching and case management skills, I aid companies and individuals in decreasing work-related disability.
I am also committed to improving health and wellness on a societal level through active service and have volunteered for a number of worthwhile organizations. Currently I sit on the Board of Health for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington and am an Educational Influential for the Institute for Work and Health.
When I’m not at work or volunteering you can find me outdoors enjoying the exhilaration of a panoramic view earned from a fabulous hike, or the sweet smell of things growing in the garden.
